The Orion Community Cable Communications Commission (OCCCC) was created by an intergovernmental agreement between the Village of Lake Orion and Orion Township in 1984. The intent was to create a single cable communications market to be served by a single franchise, with the specific purpose of being able to provide the most technologically advanced system of cable communication at the lowest reasonable cost to subscribers.
OCCCC is a nine-member board made up of two Orion Township Board members, two Lake Orion Village Council members, two Orion Township residents appointed by the Orion Township Board, two village residents appointed by the Lake Orion Village Council, and one joint appointee. Members serve a two-year term.
